Rights as beneficiary of the Withdrawal Agreement or pending a decision

You have unrestricted access to the labour market on the basis of a residence card for beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement or a local border traffic card for beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement. This is also stated on this card.

You have unrestricted access to the labour market on the basis of certificates issued to beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement. This is also stated on this certificate.

During the application period, you have unlimited access to the labour market on the basis of your valid E/E+/F/F+ card pending the submission of your application. This is only the case during the application period.

The new electronic residence card for beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement who have not yet completed 5 years of residence (M card) is valid for a period of 5 years. Afterwards, you can switch to a permanent residence, you can already do so when you have reached the 5 years of residence in total. You do not have to wait until your card is invalid.

The new electronic residence card for beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement with permanent residence (M card stating permanent residence) is valid for 10 years. After these 10 years, you must apply for a new electronic card at the commune.

The electronic local border traffic card (N card) for beneficiaries of the Withdrawal Agreement who work as a frontier worker is valid for 5 years. After these 5 years, you must return to the commune and apply for a new electronic card, for which you must prove that you are still active as a frontier worker.
